Looking forward to this release from No Kids! Judy at the Grove is a 4-song 12” EP and will be out 5/25 via Tomlab. You can hear two of the songs on their Myspace player thingie.
For anyone who has not listened to or heard of No Kids, you are missing out. They’re a delightfully sweet band that manages to stay original in the vast sea of indie pop-pers, and are frequent touring mates of the Karl Blau/Mount Eerie family. The members are just as shy as their music would lead you to assume, but don’t underestimate them-their live shows make even the kid in the corner tap his feet.

CocoRosie = Lemonade
Here it is. Finally a track of the new CocoRosie album Grey Oceans from Sub Pop. It’s out May 11th, and the track is sweet too. Has the familiar CocoRosie tone, but feels like something new. There’s horns too!
Get it :: CocoRosie = Lemonade

Oh, mannn. The surprisingly uptempo chorus is somewhat unfamiliar CocoRosie, but my god, it excites me!

Info:
CocoRosie are two American-born sisters, Sierra and Bianca, who started making music together in Paris in 2003. Their first album, La Maison de Mon Rêve, was released in 2004 and their second album, Noah’s Ark, followed in 2005. Their third and, to now, most recent album, The Adventures of Ghosthorse and Stillborn, came out in 2007. All three of these albums were released worldwide on Touch and Go Records and earned positive critical acclaim both overseas and at home.
The nomadic duo (currently and temporarily residing in New Mexico) spent much of 2008 writing and recording in Buenos Aires, Melbourne, Berlin, New York, and Paris, finding amazing and diverse musicians to collaborate along the way. The result is their 11-song Sub Pop debut, Grey Oceans, due out May 11th, 2010.

I’m dying inside. I love this band. Their vocals are so profoundly evocative and appropriately interrupted by random sound effects that create the big, lovely picture that is CocoRosie.
“Bone Jam”-JEFF the Brotherhood
Amazing live.
“Run”-Velvet Davenport featuring Ariel Pink and Gary War
I love this.
So, I never knew that Yoni Wolf from WHY? covered Pavement’s “Shoot the Singer (1 Sick Verse).”
WHY? is one of my favorite bands, and Pavement is one of my all-time favorite bands, but put them together and Yoni’s Stephen Malkmus impression just isn’t cutting it for me.
“In Moonlight”-Mount Eerie
This was when Phil was trying to take his music to a “harder, darker” level, but it’s still dripping with the sounds of The Glow, Pt. 2. Such a fucking genius, balancing the desperation in his voice with the frantic instrumentation in the outro. Wow.
“This Time Next Year”-caUSE Co-MOTION!
Active Child’s remix of Lonely Galaxy’s “Have A Heart.”
Very dreamy and slow, reminds me a bit of The Knife.

King Khan & BBQ Show - “Waddlin Around”
tape deck mountain - 80/20 (Arms and Sleepers Remix)
Wow, I had no idea Arms and Sleepers remixed tape deck mountain. Awesome.
Real Love by Delorean from their future release Subiza. This album is a true essential for your spring ear collection.
Their tour with jj is going to be epic.
Memoryhouse - Foreground (Grizzly Bear Cover)
Damn. Major WOWZ.

“Wilderness”-Active Child
I love Active Child. A lot.
#288 - Gary War - Please Don’t Die
Former member of Haunted Graffiti and it’s pretty evident. Which is great. Really sweet sentiment. Underwater hooks.
“All Around And Away We Go”-Twin Sister
A track from their upcoming EP Color Your Life. Lovely.
The Box Tops and Big Star. That is all I have to say.
Song: Dum Dum Girls- “Throw Aggi (Black Tambourine Cover)”
I love the Dum Dum Girls. I love Black Tambourine. I love the Dum Dum Girls covering Black Tambourine.
