I don’t care that I think he’s a douche and that he always has hipster groupies with ironic hats attached to his hip. This song is awesome and reminds me of past summers-guy might be annoying but he’s still pretty fucking talented.
Christmas jangle punk comes early this season in the form of “Got Something For You”, a collaborative effort from West Coast indie rockers Best Coast and Wavves. ”Got Something For You” is exactly what you’d expect — sleigh bells, chimes, heavy vocal reverb, a carillon outro, and plenty of Nathan Williams’ patented “woo” melodies. Available for free November 28th on the upcoming Target holiday compilation The Christmas Gig.
This is good. Maybe not quite as impressive as last year’s Dum Dum Girls/Crocodiles holiday tune (“Merry Christmas Baby, Please Don’t Die,” nod to veganshoegazer!) but still worthy of repeated plays in front of the fireplace.
